Sitar Arts Center

Sitar Arts Center envisions a city where all youth can belong, create, and achieve their full potential in life. At Sitar, arts-based youth development, and a nurturing community, support students from early childhood through young adulthood through the artistic cycle of connect, create, and contribute.

Throughout the year at Sitar, 900 students discover and develop their gifts in the visual, performing, and digital arts during the vulnerable afterschool and summer hours. An abiding commitment to equitable access is demonstrated by Sitar's mandate that 80% of students come from households with 60% or less of the median income. Many families in Sitar's community have recently immigrated and 85% of our students are BIPOC. 100% of our students are deeply valued and belong at Sitar.
